What people ask most often.

Answers to what people ask before they come. If you cannot find yours, write to me.

How long is a session and what does it cost?
A session lasts 50 minutes and costs 80 Euros/400 RON.
Where does the session take place?
Online, or in person in the Sfânta Vineri area of Bucharest. The exact address follows once the appointment is set.
Do I need a referral from another doctor?
No. You can come directly. If you have recent imaging or lab work, bring it, as it shortens the assessment.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable you can move in. The assessment involves movement, not only palpation.
Is the first session only a consultation?
No. Assessment and treatment happen in the same process, not in separate visits.
How do I book?
Fill in the form on the booking page. For anything else, write to doctorameliavoinea@gmail.com.
Is this physiotherapy?
In part. Manual therapy and movement are part of the treatment, and there they overlap with what a physiotherapist does. What differs is the frame: I am a doctor, specialised in physical medicine and rehabilitation, so the hands-on work sits inside a medical assessment rather than standing on its own, and it is one of several things a session can draw on.
Is this psychotherapy?
No. I am a medical doctor, not a psychotherapist. I have trained in Somatic Experiencing and Integral Somatic Psychology, and I use that training inside a medical consultation. It does not replace psychotherapy, and it is not what I offer.
I have already done a lot of body and therapy work. What is different here?
The training I use comes from three directions that usually sit in separate rooms: medical assessment, fascial and visceral manual work, and work with the nervous system and with how the body processes emotion. A session can move between them, in one process, rather than sending you to three people who each see one part.
Do you work with practitioners, therapists, coaches, bodyworkers?
Yes. A good part of the people who come to me work with others professionally, and come for their own process.
